A voice or text message to the WhatsApp bot automatically generates the QR invitation for your visitor. No apps, no calls to the gate house, and it stays valid even when the gate house has no internet.

What it does

Inviting a guest no longer requires opening any app. The resident records a WhatsApp voice message —or types a text— saying something as natural as "I'm inviting Laura Gómez on Saturday from 4 to 8 pm, she drives a silver gray car" and sends it to the community's WhatsApp number.

GateGuard interprets that message and within seconds generates the complete invitation: visitor name, access date and validity and, if mentioned, the vehicle. The visitor receives their invitation with a single-use QR code on the same WhatsApp channel. On arrival, they show the QR at the gate — at the GateGuard Totem if the community has one, or with the guard if not — no front-desk registration, no calls to the gatehouse, nothing to install.

If the resident mentioned a vehicle, the visitor can also register their plate from the invitation itself, and their entry will be recognized automatically by the plate reader (PRO and SG).

What it is for

The classic problem in gated communities is that inviting guests took effort: open the app, navigate menus, fill forms with name, date, time and plates... Many residents ended up skipping the formal process: calling the guard, putting guests on a verbal list, or just sending them unregistered.

Every informal invitation is a security gap: nobody knows who entered, when, or which house they were visiting. And it adds workload to the gatehouse: phone validation, handwritten notes, list searching.

This feature turns the entire flow into a single WhatsApp message — the channel every resident already has open on their phone. Invitation friction drops to zero, and with it, the temptation to skip the process.

FAQ

Do I really not need to open the app?

No. The voice or text WhatsApp message is all you need to generate the complete invitation: visitor, validity and vehicle if you mention it. The app is still useful for other things (history, recurring access), but for inviting you never open it.

What if I don't have the community's number saved?

It's a regular WhatsApp number: save it once as a contact (e.g., "My Community Access") and from then on inviting means opening that chat and speaking. The visitor's invitation also arrives via WhatsApp, so they don't need to save anything permanent either.

Does the visitor need to install anything or create an account?

No. Everything arrives via WhatsApp: the resident requests the invitation with a message and the visitor receives the QR on the same channel. The QR is single-use and validity is set by the resident in their message.

The QR codes GateGuard generates do not need internet to work. If the gatehouse loses connectivity, your guest's QR is still valid at that moment: the access point validates it and your guest enters with all security measures in place — single-use QR, validity window and full logging. The invitation is stored locally and, when internet returns, everything syncs automatically to the cloud. A network failure never stops an access.
